Having just made plum jam and plum vodka I have large number of plum stones, can these be of food value to my chucks and if so how best to feed them. They love plums but I cut and de-stone first.

They are certainly very high in oil which would not be good for them either.

In a Katie Thear book (can't remember which) I read that plums when eaten in quantity make chickens appear drunk!!

If you have a lot of plum trees, like we do, maybe cordon them off to stop an overdose,  I have :-(

drunk chickens
Reminds me of a story told to me across in Bavaria.  It is illegal to shoot ducks within the town / village limits and the ducks seem to know this.  So the locals soak bread in schnapps and leave it out for the ducks to eat.  Suitably inebriated ducks can then simply be picked up from the side of the river.

"Don't the police know about this?", I asked.
"We are the police", came the reply !!!

yep it works on pigeons to but they tend to fly as you aproach them but it is fun watching them go all over the place trying to get away.
