Pea safety.

Quick question about peas.  Can you soak them in parrafin for an hour or so the same way you do the broad beans to stop the mice getting them?  The peas I have are Kelvedon Wonder.

Sorry to not answer your question directly as I don't use parrafin so don't know the answer to that one.
However, I find that starting my peas and beans off in a fairly mouse proof greenhouse before transplanting them out to the garden means I have very little trouble with them.  When I plant them out I always put them under nets though so the darn pigeons don't help themselves!

Answer is "Yes you can" and if you do a forum search on "paraffin" (note spelling), you'll find several recent threads on it.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

wow that is what I call pigeon proof!
3 dogs, 8 chickens, 4 rabbits 2 guinea pigs, 10 quail, 2 fish and a demanding daughter who has gone to uni and left me with 29 animals to care for!!=)

Call it an intelligent guess if you like, but I'd say they were inverted plant pots to stop rodents climbing the canes.
