Aunty I dont like to disagee with you but Moon planting and bio/planting really does work.Stonehenge is thought to be a giant Bio calender.

Think about it nature grows according to its own calender, planting and seeding only when things are favourable for the plant or being.Mankind plants whenever or whatever he likes, bending nature to his will. Then nature fights back and gives us plagues or too much rain wind or sun or no sun etc.Bio and moon planting seek to redress the balance at least a little in mans favour.Tests have shown that it can increase the yield and vigour of many crops. :D

glad to spread a little joy

I got curious as there was a lady doing it on that lottie programme on TV and I also use some skincare that works on those principles and it is freakishly effective.

If plonking my carrots in 2 days later and getting more yield because some druid says so then that is fine by me!

Which tests are these Henry ? Can you give me a link please ?  If the test data proves me wrong I'll eat... a marrow...  Yuk

Seriously though.  Can anyone give me any scientific evidence that Biodynamic gardening works.  I'd be very interested to see it !

Even has we speak tests are under way.As soon as they are published we will all be the wiser.Moon planting is very far from new.Our ancestors planted in this way for 1000s of years. It was for practical reasons. It was and is understood that the moon and sun affects all of life. This has nothing to do with religion or moon worship its part of the rythme of life. Meanwhile the moon continues to affect the tides, plants follow the sun and one day Aunty will have to eat a marrow.

Aunty why do you find it so hard to believe that the moon affects plants when you readily accepted that planting beans to the south works. moon and sun Ying and Yang.Anyway I dont think you will ever have to eat that marrow because the research money will run out long before they discover anything. :(

Munty explained that one Henry.  If the bean is looking up to the sky it rotates in a  clockwise direction following the track of the sun diring the day.  When the bean reaches the bend in the string it helps to keep it climbing the string.  If you planted it to face the other way it would fall off the string.

All plants need light and heat from the sun.  They don't need moon beams or the planters psychological energy to help them to grow.
