Still dry here.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Nearly a week on & still no rain, if you read the right forecast, none is predicited.

Is March going to "come in like a lamb and go out like a whimp"?

This really is an interesting thread.
We have hardly had any rain here too for this month and the Water Butts are nearly running on empty! Yet, if I look in my gardening diary for the same period last year, it was rain, rain, rain. It's funny though as the lack of rain has not affected my permanent crops in the way that heavy rain does!

Only 9mm here this month, but the ground is still quite wet just below the surface.
Forecast is for a drop or 2 today

Ground is perfect for digging and clearing & hopfeully planting spuds soon, as you say it's still quite damp underneath.

However, the top is getting quite dry and that's not good for seed sowing, with the carrots etc. going in soon.

Wouldn't be too bad, but the water's turned off over winter!

I don`t think our water gets turned off either. May have been in December though.... I didn`t need any then!
I`m left handed, what`s your excuse?

It's turned off and the system drained in case it freezes.

Just as well they did this year!

I`d certainly prefer a rain free month now than in June or July. :D

I seem to remember that at the beginning of March the rivers were well up and the ground was saturated from rain, rain, rain. It was wet, cold and blowy.

In like a lion, out like a lamb.
