Mine get along fine also in the unheated greenhouse, which is to all intents & purposes a large cold frame.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks for all the replies guys, they have been helpful.

I sowed Romaine Chartwell Lettuce in modules for transplanting onto the plot in a few weeks.

The variety I have sown is from T & M and they say it is the sweetest variety they have trialled

my last word on this - my outdoor ones started showing yesterday - sown on 06/03.
