A lot of shouting
« on: March 12, 2011, 10:01 »
My 5 peaceful quiet clucky girls have turned into shouty monsters!  Nothing will keep them quiet.  Is there any reason for this.  The garden is secure - they know the cats, they get fed, watered and have bags of room - at the moment to dig to Australia!  Are they excited for spring?

Have they just come into lay? they can be very vocal telling the world when they've laid an egg, or even if someone else has laid the egg!

they are ex Batts, so haven't stopped laying all winter!  All is quiet at the moment, so I can only assume they are up to no good!

Next time you hear it have a look at the sky - could be there's a bird of prey hanging about. They can be very vocal when giving an "alarm" signal.

It could just be that they are feeling Spring. Birds recognise it before we do and as ex batts it may well be their first.

Mostly ours are noisiest when telling us off - late to open gate, no treats; you name it, they tell us in a loud voice.
