Collective noun/s for chickens?
« on: March 11, 2011, 19:12 »
I recently heard someone refer to a "puddle" of sleeping chicks.  I thought that was a great description.

What other collective nouns are there for chickens apart from the boring old "flock"?

A chatter of chickens or a chuckle of chickens when they are pottering around in the garden.  :)

A jostle of chickens when they are settling down for the night.

This morning I had an explosion of chickens when I opened the coop door.   It's time they learned some manners!
