Feeders let in water :-(
« on: August 14, 2007, 08:48 »
I am finding my feed gets wet and ruined with the feeders I have (I have tried many sorts now).  I got troughs which clip to the wire but rain gets into it and the usual ones get pools in the area the feed is dispensed from. :(

I don't have a covered run but find the girls stay in their house if its wet (its 15ft x 10ft and about 7ft high) so they have plenty of room to exercise and stretch if they do.  I can put their food indoors but would love to know of feeders that protect from water seepage, any one found one please?

Guess I will need to invest in some of that plastic roof if not :?

you can get covered feeders from

www.domesticfowltrust.co.uk

and

www.ascott.biz

they can be a bit pricey.  i have a really big shed so have a feeder inside as well as out in this weather

i also went to tescos and for about £14 i got a garden umbrella and cast iron stand. i only use the top of the brolly so its not so tall. but it makes a good sun and rain shade and can be moved about. just an idea.
