Not good news I am afraid...we had to leave our Ronnie there  :(

The vet, who was just wonderful, thought that along with a sour crop she also had peritonitis.  She was so weak and had lost so much weight he didn't think she would pull through even with treatment.

I now have one very sad little 4 year old boy....

The silver lining is that I now have contact with a wonderful team of vets dedicated to chicken health.

Thank you for all your support

Really sorry to hear that it has all been so distressing.  Keeping fingers and toes crossed.  O know exactly how you feel as we lost two chickens for different reasons and my two boys were devastated.

Thank you for your kind words.  It was so sad and whilst I know it was the right decision, it was not an easy one to make.

I only hope it helps me spot any problems in my other girls much sooner

Don't feel guilty about it.  Hens are well known to hide when they are feeling unwell until it is really serious.  You did everything you could and found a wonderful chicken-friendly vet.
