Sunflowers - when to start indoors?
« on: February 28, 2011, 14:00 »
I'm wondering when is a good time to plant these seeds in pots indoors to be grown on the windowsill, the info I have seen does not mention the best time to start them.

Any advice?

Also when is it normal to harden them off and transplant outside?

Cheers.

I usually have my granson plant sunflower seeds direct into prepared ground on my plot on the first weekend of May. Going off that,up here in Manchester,I would say if you want to start them indoors, early April will be ok. Others will have their own opinion and I guess it depends on  the weather in your part of the country.  :)
