Update:  White hen is looking a bit better.  She stood up today, and has taken bothe water and crumbles independently :)

Hoping things go well for your traumatised birds.  We have some friends living in the country in France who used to keep chx but now have been put off keeping them because of the fear of pine martins.  Thank goodness we don't have these killers in any great numbers, foxes are bad enough.

You need an auto pophole open/closer.

Further update:

Marans hen is now back to laying about every other day, a nice medium dark egg and medium weight.

White hen is now much happier pottering around the garden.  Her eyes are clear again, and she can hold her head up by herself - the *lovely* bright green bruising on her neck is subsiding

Am convinced now that they will both make it :)
