At last an egg !
« on: February 18, 2011, 15:21 »
Was there a blue moon last night or maybe it was the northern lights  :D
I am so excited  :)
We got our first girls last August and one of the Welsumers laid 1 egg about 4 days after we got her and then no more.  :(
I noticed a couple of days ago that she was investigating the inside of the coop during the day, Um, I thought, dare I start to wish!  :nowink:
Again today I thought she had been in there and her comb was definitely looking very red, anyway as I'm sure you have guessed - I checked the coop a few minutes ago and there was a Welsummer egg!!!!
I wonder will she lay more than one  this year ::)
Maybe the other Welsummer and the Barnvelder might present me with their first eggs soon too.  :)
1 Hubby, 2 children, 2 Welsummers, 1 Leghorn Banty, 1 Wyandotte Banty, 1 Barnevelder, 2 Isa Brown, 1 Rhode Island, 1 Goldline,1 Maran, 2 Mottled Leghorns, 1 Leghorn cockerel & 2 Jack Russells
