Blummin Frost!!
« on: February 18, 2011, 15:20 »
i managed to get a nice tilth yesterday in which to plant my strawberry runners and, having done that, i looked at the cloche covering my recently planted Shallots and thought, "we won't be due a frost for a while".........

 :(

Quite a hard frost down here last night....Strawberries should be okay but shallots?

Shallots can take it!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Remember some of us had a late frost late May/early June last year.

Actually, yes.

A few years back, I stuck some in Mrs Digger's plot after we'd cleared it in June, just for the sake of sticking something in.

OK they didn't grow big, but they split alright without frost.
