Garlic

Hi there,

I planed some garlic cloves into some trays and they are now growing really well, roots have even started coming out the bottom.

Is it too early to plant them out side, i am near Gatwick and im concerned if i plant it now with all the rain forecast it might kill the plants due to the ground being so wet.

just get them in as soon as you can, mine have been out in the ground since November and are growing quite happily.

Harden them off first if they have been growing inside though

Hey,

I am just about to plant mine out. I think the most important thing is to ensure that the ground you are planting them into drains well. Other (more expert...) folk may advise differently, but it worked well for me last year.

I started mine off in pots last October and kept them in an unheated G/house and put them in the ground about a week ago and already they have grown about 2 inches. I am near Manchester about 180 miles North of where you are. Get them in the ground ASAP

My fingers are now crossed for a dry day over the weekend to get them planted.
