I'm a newbie with all thats green and growing in the garden and have had some sucess with most veg but my Pumpkins are producing flowers that then produce the fruit at the base but when the flower falls off the fruit begin to turn brown and start to rot.  Please help as I would love to have them for Halloween   ...   Many thanks

Sounds very much like the female plants aren't getting fertilised.  Have a look and see whether you have any male plants - they are on long stalks and don't have any bulbous bit underneath.  If you have, take a cotton bud and sab up some pollen from the male and introduce it into the female.  or strip the male petals back and rub it in the female.

If you don't have any ready male flowers, steal some from another plant!
