indian summer sweetcorn
« on: August 09, 2007, 13:12 »
i bought these as they were reduced and thought they would be a nice change as the pictured showed multi coloured kernels, up until a few days ago they where all yellow but a few were different shades of yellow then yesturday when i checked the plot i looked at the cobs and they had turned different shades of red! hope the taste lives up to the look of them! anyone else grown these?

originally sweetcorn from the aztecs was a mix of all colours including black, we just bred them on to have the yellow ones ,they all taste slightly different ,try saving some for drying and then make flour from them ,you can make a corn cake from them that is real tasty, we used to have gravy and corn breads for breakfast many years ago
still alive /............
