Will it be a Hen or a cockerel?

A guy on our allotments say you can tell by the shape of the egg if it going to be hen or a cockerel, does anyone know if this is true

Sorry I don't know what went worry.

He said that a football shaped eggs was a boy chicks, and more oval shaped eggs was the girl chicks.

I have heard people say that.... Imagine if they were accurate how much money they could save the intensive poultry industry :)

they also say you can tell by the size of the cockerels head whether it is a pullet thrower or a cockerel thrower - wonder how come I had a 50% mix from the same boy then  :wacko:

I believe its the hen that throws the gender.....  read it somewhere in the dim and distant past :)
