Whats wrong ???

Over the last couple of weeks, my girls feathers have started to fall out and their bums seem rather pink.

I recently changed the variety of pellets and regularly clean them out and give them water.

Someone advised that their was nothing to worry about as they are just molting and may stop laying for a little buit as they need all their energy to realease and grow more feathers.

Is this right...

Could anyone advice.

NB: silly question, but do the girls wee & poo from the same hole (sorry) as their poo seems okay and I will be standing their and one of them will suddenly have water/slime come from them, like wee/diarrehea....

They seem okay in themselves and started laying again.....

sounds like a partial moult , mine hens looked practically oven ready on parts of them lol

I would say you have nothing to worry about. It's just a moult. Some people give their hens some cat food or tuna in spring water as a lovely extra protein treat. Some hens look just terrible when they moult and their run can look like there has been a fight in a pillow factory. Just keep an eye on them and if you think they are looking rather down up the protein treats and include lots of greens in their diet.
