Strawberry runners
« on: January 29, 2011, 11:02 »
Just looking for some advice on the runners.  I am desperate to go out and do something.  Everything else is done, dug over, covered with tarp, seeds ordered, pots scrubbed and I want to do something else!!!  Is it too early to plant out the runners I took last year.  They are growing away nicely in some pots at the mo, not covered over or anything and quite happy.  But I want to get something in the ground and they are sitting there smiling at me.

Can you  do it without stepping on the bed?  The soil is almost certainly too wet to tread on.

I just potted some up into flower tubs in the greenhouse and am hoping for a nice early crop.

Know what you mean about itching to get started. We've had cold but dry weather all week and I managed to get 2 beds raked over and ready for their new occupants. Still too early to put anything in though.

bit it all looks so brbare and inviting.  Really can't wait to just get going again.  Its been pretty dry here too and getting fed up of looking at over wintered chilis.

Wish I could bottle patience.

I'd make a fortune selling it.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

and optimisim.  Mind you, think most lotties or patchers have it in bucket loads.  Get the feeling I need to chill and just look at more threads on here for a few more weeks!
