You can grow apple trees from seeds by chitting the seeds first then planting them, but it would take many years before there was any chance of getting fruit from them. If you want apple trees for fruit, you are probably better off buying young trees.

also you would have no idea what size the tree would grow to as the apple could have come from a tree grafted onto a dwarf root stock but the pip would grow to a different size.

Rumour has it that,   apple trees grown from pips will not come true to type.  I believe it will be best to find out the name of the apple and buy a small tree.

This way you can chose how large you want the tree to become, this is done by grafting the tree you want onto different root stocks.  Cheers,   Tony.

Apples do not come true from seed and the aforesaid about grafted root stocks is true.

Having said that, all new varieties of apples are grown from seed. The flowers of two likely varieties are cross pollinated and then the seeds from the resulting fruit are sown. The seedlings are grown on and eventually produce fruit. Until then nobody has any idea what the outcome will be. A very lengthy process.

If you plant your seeds you might be lucky and produce wonderful fruit. More likely not.
