Plenty people attract birds to their gardens by way of feed and/or nesting boxes. If you are concerned about the birds eating your veg seed, the type of nesting box you provide may help to determine the type of bird you attract, as in insect eaters rather than seed and plant eaters. We attract birds to our garden and don't have a problem with the veg being disturbed, apart from by the odd passing pigeon.

I can't see one pair of birds doing significant damage whatever the species. If anything it will have a slight beneficial effect as most species are highly territorial, particularly in the breeding (= growing) season, & you're better off having one resident pair of whatever, than countless casual visitors.

Don't forget to site the nestbox safely out of reach of predators, and not in full sun  :)
