Isn't it the French Marigolds that White Fly are supposed to hate? (and I thought African Marigolds were really tall - so perhaps a) it wasn't African that you grew? or b) I've lost my marbles again and got them the wrong way round!

It's tagetes, french marigolds, that you grow to deter whitefly
