Rachel, you are not charging enough love!  We charge £1.80 per dozen and that is cheaper than the cheapest battery eggs in Tesco!

look around your area to get an idea of prices - each area will have different prices. I sell mine for £1 for half dozen  :)

no-one around here has chickens- although saying that I heard the suspicious sound of someone elses cockerel today- will have to go and investigate that when it is drier!  The farm shop about 8 miles away sells home-grown eggs for 2.00 a half dozen, which I think is quite expensive  but I'm not sure- will have to see and go by demand maybe then.  People might want them if they know they came from a few doors down :)

As you are in Essex, I would say charge at least £2 a dozen.  You can get the egg boxes from Ebay, or Ascott's sell them at not a bad price.  Sellng at your house or garden is fine, but you are not supposed to use old egg boxes, unless the buyer brings her own egg box to put the eggs in.

If no one is selling them, they should go very well Clucky!!!

we have a lot of people selling eggs here so i was a little worried when i first put the sign up that i would not get any takers.

4 months later i have specific customers and others request a dozen for special occasions. i used to only have about 2 dozen a week to sell so even a small number people will love. home grown fresh eggs are even better than free range as far as i and my customers are concerned.

now i have realised my spaniel was helping himself i am getting loads more eggs lol
