I very much doubt you will have trouble with "wet" (but if you do some trenches running towards the lower ground will be all you need to sort it out)

Those trees have been cut off at hedge-height before.  Maybe ask if it would be permissible to pollard them again - although, nowadays, that probably means qualified tree surgeons and all that jazz, which won't be cheap (unless you have a mate ...)

ok so i've done the initial agreement now just waiting for the form and key, i now have some land and will be asking lots of newbie questions on getting it into shape as a garden.
Could really do with a shed first i guess!! on starts the search!

Perhaps you can get a set of pruners and trim that hedge every so often, and as other say the soil looks good.

Go for it and say that you would like to move to a better plot when one comes along and you have proven yourself.

thanks spartacat I've started clearing off the sod now and wish it would rain less so i could get on with it! lol. no luck on the shed front yet if anyone in or around norfolk/norwich has one i'd be interested!
