Egg
« on: January 02, 2011, 15:40 »
Hi,

I was giving two of the coops their weekly deep clean yesterday, and had let out one lot of chickens, but not the ones whose house I was cleaning (the youngsters in the house I had let out get attacked whilst they are still small).  Well as I was removing the mucky stuff in their house, the cockerel jumped out and started rampaging around the garden.  The girls he was now with dont have a cockerel in their coop, so he had no compotition.
Well, he did his cockerel thing, and mounted one of the girls before I managed to grab him and put him back where he belonged to be let out later.  However, thismoring I found that hens egg- it was really wierdly formed.  The two tips of it were slightly off centre to eachother, and one side was rather flat with the otherside overly round.
Is this only because it was her fist experience with a cockerel, or is it just normal to get a weird egg?
Sorry this is so long, I just really want to know that she is ok.

Thanks guys  :)

more than likely just an odd shaped egg - nothing to worry about  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.
