merry tiller accessories
« on: December 22, 2010, 18:32 »
Hi everybody. Just getting together yet another merry tiller rotivator for the spring. Been working on an early 70's titan with plough attachment and 16 wheels. Also managed to get hold of the 19" spade wheels. I'm now scanning the ads for a pair of merry tiller heavy duty extention tubes. they are listed as m3385 in the merry tiller parts list, and have an inside diameter of 1.1/4" and an o/d of 1.3/8" I think they are 8" in length. These measurements are all in old money. If anybody knows where I can source a pair I'd be over the moon. Annoying thing is I had a pair 2 years ago and sold them as at that time I had no use for them. A happy Christmas to you all and don't break any forks trying to dig up those frozen in leeks.

I have in my travels now got about 20 lengths of pipe, I'm looking for 1 1/4 " ID and 1 5/8" OD.  If I could get something even close to those measurements I would be happy.I am now trying the centres of a pair of old slasher tines and going to weld some steam pipe with the correct o/d onto them. Many thanks anyway.

I hope you get it all sorted. :)
Some parts are getting a bit scarce for the merry tiller now.

So do I gwis.  Having said  that I know a guy I met at a show who said he had about 58 merry tillers, I thought he was joking until I bought a few bits off him and went round to collect them. Amazing, he not only had about 60 merry tillers but also a dozen different makes thrown in. Alas he only had one set of extension bars, and he wouldn't part. Merry Christmas.

I got a few pairs when buying a batch of Merry Tiller spares previously sold off by Atco when they cleared their stores of Webb based parts. They are a bit odd, being fully machined inside and out, the inside is 1.25” clearance but the outside has been machined to 1.55” which is slightly less than the 1.625”plain tube type made by Wolseley.  Site rules forbid me from selling them here.
Happy new year,
Richard

You could put them up for sale in the classified adverts section though, couldn't you? ;)
