Potatoes that will not cook
« on: December 19, 2010, 19:13 »
We have come across a problem this season with a number of potatoes where parts of the potato remain hard regardless of how long they are boiled or microwaved.

Problems have been limited to Cara and Arran Victory varieties but not all tubers are affected.

any ideas as to the possible cause?

I wonder whether it's something to do with the growing conditions this year.  Many of my spuds have the opposite problem - turn to mush without warning.  Perhaps irregular watering?

Other than that I have absolutely no idea, hopefully others will be more inspired!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
