We pulled a parsnip
« on: November 16, 2010, 14:06 »
To see how they were getting on

a 5lb parsnip, photo will follow when I can find the lead to plug in to the PC

It was ugly as sin and tesco wouldnt have let it grace their shelves but the kids said it tasted great.

I cant confirm whether it was great or not as I have just discovered I am pregnant and every thing tastes gross  ::)

Congrats on the pregnancy and being able to grow parsnips that your kids will eat.  Not the biggest fan of them except roasted ones.

The parsnip was as a shock as it took 3 packs to manage to grow one small bed full. (the pregnancy was a shock too seen as we have been trying for 10 years )  hubby still in shock, maybe I should have smacked him on the head with the parsnip

Congratulations on the news of your baby and very well done with regards to your Parsnip.  They are great to grow as I'm always amazed what I pull up.

Congratulations on both counts BQ!  :)

Hope your baby is at least 1 1/2 times heavier and 100 times better looking than your parsnip!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Couldn't say it better myself!

Congratulations BQ.
We always love the first parsnip, hate pulling them up though, they always seem to be too deep!

Parsnips and baby? Did you wait 10 years for a decent parsnip too?

Congrats and lots of love xx
