sick chick
« on: November 14, 2010, 18:12 »
:( I have only had my new POL chickens for 2 weeks and today i noticed one of them did not come out from underneath the coop all afternoon. I went to lock them up tonight and she was still there although all the others had gone to bed. I lifted her up and she didn't put up any resistance(which they normally do flap a bit) i then put her onto the perch and she started to move and fell over!. I have checked her all over and i cannot see any sign of bullying and wondered if anyone else has had anything similar, or knows what could be wrong. I have moved her into the house away from the others for the night-is this the right thing to do?

Check her all over tomorrow to see if you can spot the problem.  Feel gently around her tummy near her vent to see if there's an egg stuck there.
