I like most breeds apart from TNN* and the show birds with severely messed up plumage.
Quite fond of KFC. :)

I have one TNN called Dixie (so called as she has a red neck) and she is lovely - Grannie Annie gave her to me  :). They do look a bit ugly when you first see them but overtime they grow on you. Sadly she has never laid an egg but she does add amusement value

Evie and Joyful.  I'm having some of those next year to go with my Nankin and New Hampshire Red bantams.  Can't wait they are very pretty.

must admit the cocks of both these breeds (in the large fowl anyway) are magnificent  :).
Strangly enough Kellogs when you first came on here I though you must have Welsummers as the cockerels of these are known as the Kellogs bird (the cocks are super but the girls are a bit mousy).

A good quality Welsummer hen is far from mousey.  They can be magnificently feathered with almost golden hackles and deep rustic brown bodies.  They also lay the most deep brown chocolate coloured eggshells.  I think this just illustrates the futility of a beauty parade as there are so many reasons why people like particular breeds and this list is not remotely representative of the many varieties that are available.  Nor is it consistant for example a "Blackrock" is a "Hybrid" and a "Bantam" isn't a breed it's all a bit like asking do you prefer a four wheel drive vehicle or a landrover Discovery they aren't exclusive classifications.

I would never have a flock of chx which didn't include Sussex (particularly buff or speckled).  Sussex are without peers when all round qualities are taken into account such as egg production, meat, hardiness and ease of keeping in free range environments, good broodies and mothers, cost of ownership friendliness etc and they look good too.  However they don't excell above all others in a single department and there are far more beautiful birds and better layers (hybrids for example).  It all depends what qualities you value.

There are no Welsummers listed on your pole.
I have 4 hybrids 1 Welsummer 1 Cream Legbar 1 wesummer/cream legbar cross and I have to say that the latter is my favourite. She is a big girl but holds herself beautifully and her markings are fab. The Welsummer is also my favourite as she is very similar but more golden.

Gerty the cross breed
