Hen with eye defect
« on: November 13, 2010, 18:23 »
Hello all, I noticed today my little bantam appeared off colour she was not interested in her food and her tail was down. I took her out to have a look and one side of her face appeared pale and the pupil of her eye was lower down than normal, there seemed to be a slight inflammation under the eye, but difficult to be sure. There is no discharge and the other side of her face is fine. Her comb and wattle are bright red as always. She did take a little oats from my hand later but there is a problem  I feel.
Any suggestions would be most welcome. She is a lovely bird and been with me for four years now, she is laying okay too.

Thanks

I agree with Joyfull here.  Find a local chicken-friendly vet and good luck.  Keep us posted.

Oh I hope she'll be all right. Let us know what the vet says  :)
