Rhubarb

Hi, how do you care for rhubarb over the winter, I have one plant that has quite a few leaves and 2 very small, all have been planted earlier this year at various times?

Let it die down.

Throw some manure over it.

Ignore until spring.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

That sounds about the treatment I give mine.

Not really.

I don't bother with the manure as it's prolific enough.

I was just saying how it should be done.  :tongue2:

Agree with D.D.   Although if I'm short of manure I tip the used growbags and pots from the greenhouse 'clear out' over the rhubarb - they seem to like it!

Bottom line is, unless you're very unlucky or doing something very wrong, you don't need to look after rhubarb.

The patch I tried to dig out gets better every year.
