As you know (Ive bored you often enough with it), Monty's foot is not getting any better. I bathed it again this afternoon and got rid of loads of nasty stuff. Trouble is, Mont doesnt want to walk on his poorly foot, so he keeps falling over.
Ive bitten the bullet and made an appointment for him with the vet, but I know in my heart that it will be a one way trip for my little man.
Please think of me at 2.15 tomorrow, as I know Ill need all the strength I can get to make the most difficult of decisions.
If the vet says try something else, then of course Ill give anything a go, but I dont want the boy to suffer anymore.
I feel so sad, Im welling up just writing this, heaven knows how Ill be tomorrow.
Dont ask me to get support from my OH, he's even more devastated than me. I have to be the strong one here!!

Hi Mary, Richard here. Don't lose heart. Is Monty eating and drinking albeit with a bad foot? Has he lost weight? Although the infection hasn't cleared up, is it getting worse? The vet might be able to intervene with something different. I really hope it goes OK for you x

Monty is eating and drinking very well, infact I think he has put on weight and his feathers are growing back where the girls pecked him.  Im convinced that any infection he has is just in his foot, his leg isnt swollen. He cockled this morning, and has been during his illness. I spent all night dreaming about him last night, and woke up with a terrible headache..stress. Im going to keep busy this morning, cleaning the cooker!!

Keep your chin up and hopefully the vet will be able to help Monty, he might be able to give you a poultice or something to draw the infection out. Good Luck to you all

there are so many different antibiotics they could try - perhaps the ones so far haven't been right for him. Have they tried penicillin yet? I seem to remember reading in one of my old books that this works, don't give up hope hun xx
