last courgettes and french beans

since sunday me and my hubby have worked about 20 hours on the plot clearing hiding places for slugs and snails which i think we found about 600! we rehomed them a long way from other plots in a rough area for the black birds/thrushes to eat.
i planted out my last french beans and courgette baby plants yesturday and was determind to get a harvest from them so i surrounded them with a fence of canes then covered them with cosy fleece laid the left over ends on the ground and buried them! it looks weird but nothing can get in!! unless i have traped something in there that would be funny really sad but i would laugh!
it will be a pain to check every day but i can sleep at night when i hear the rain knowing they aren't being eaten (i hope!!)

i know bu the council havn't cut the grass and it is nearly waist high i don't think they can get to my plot and if they do make it it will be Christmas!
