No help, I know, but I have lost all my caulis.  I didn't know you have to cover them to protect them, but with all the raim, I'm not sure I could have saved them.

I've also lost my broccoli which have bolted - still, my potatoes and onions are OK, so I am luckier than some.

Pulled a lot of caulis today because they have started to go over , caulis tend to do this ,very sensitive to weather conditions, but they freeze very well, so if a lot are ready at one time I freeze them.

Folding of leaves over the curd will help it to stay white and gives a bit of shading which may slow down premature bolting.

I had four nice sized ones the other day, three had started to open up a bit, but that just made it easier to prep them for a batch of piccallili!  Was so proud of my first ever good cauli, I had to take a photo....

I see you have a purplish tinge on your cauli , we had the same, I put it down to the cold wind we've been having.

I have always eaten the leaves on caulis ,but some say only the florets, any ideas on why the leaves are discarded by so many ??

I always eat the leaves and the florets.  I love the leaves and use it like cabbage....lovely steamed and as an extra veg....amazing how many folk throw this away.

Probably thrown away cos it's not as pretty as the heart but you get some really nice greens.

Yytnn....so jealous of your caulis they look perfect.

Cheers, Ziggy, I think it was a one off!  I've grown Purple Graffiti from seeds, but only had one head from those so far - these white ones were given to me as young plants by one of the show growers in my village, so I can't take much credit!  Some of those haven't even considered producing a head yet, I'm beginning to think cauli growing is a very mysterious Dark Art
