The problem i have is not knowing what to do with them next? I believe they need drying. is this right? I would like to store some if poss.
Cheers

yes just dig them up and lay them in dry light conditions like on a wire mesh grid and when they look like they do when you buy them from shops ie dry and brown tie them into large bunches and hang them up  so the air can get to them and they dont rot :)

Alternatively, store them in ladies tights :)

I wait until all the leaves die back then on a dry day(!)lift them and leave them on the ground in the sun. This year it maybe lift them and lay them out to dry on greenhouse staging, the wire trays from ovens are also good for this, anything but you want air circulating around them until the leaves are papery dry then put into onion bags, you can get these free if you befriend a local greengrocer or tie into onion strings to hang up.

I lift mine and thread the foliage through holes in upside down plastic bread trays. These in turn are put into a cold frame with the "lights" on. Generally keep until all used or the follwing May (whichever isthe earlier).
Ah well ! There is always next year !

Different varieties have different shapes.  Some are round, some flattened, some 'flask' shaped etc....

If it's important to you, check when buying your sets/seeds.  The shape is usually specified on the label.
