Space is a problem for me (even in bed these days  ) I have a useless north facing garden and plain laid concrete underneath. The part where the sun never touches is covered by decking and I want to do some kind of growing here. (pots, pans or ring culture or anything). Are there any herbs/leaves/vegetables grow in full shade?

Lettuce and spinach usually works.

Cukes don't mind a fair bit of shade, and since they're in pots you can give them an occasional sunbath.

I've got one small bed that gets hardly any sun at all. It's directly in the shade of a lilac tree on one side and the house on the other side. Right now it's planted up with herbs - thyme, oregano, parsley, basil, french tarragon, dill, coriander - and they've been absolutely fine in it, growing well. In prior years I've grown a courgette in it and that was fine too, huge crop.
