How about this to creep you out!
« on: September 09, 2010, 22:42 »
My brother lives in Vietnam and is married to a beautiful intelligent and educated Vietnamese girl. They have two delightful children. When I visited them as we were sitting down to breakfast my niece was eating what I thought was scrambled eggs.....yes it was scrambled eggs but here was something in the egg....What was in it I asked. Oh my brother replied that is a simply horrible dish....Yes but what is it?...Look closely he said....So I did. Oh my goodness....Yes it was half incubated egg, so there were bones and legs in it......Yuck or what!

my sister used to work in Korea and YES that is a delicacy - and hard boiled - can't imagine how gross that must be to eat.  YUK  also cooked chicken feet - she actually tried those after watching many people showing all signs of thoroughly enjoying them but said they were just as revolting as she had thought they might be!  :tongue2:
it takes all sorts ......  ::)

I've got a chap in London who buys some of our meat chickens oven ready.  he is married to a Chinese lady and whenever I send his chickens down to him, I have to send them the feet too, and we usually give him a few extra ones!  Saves throwing them away!!! lol

If you type "balut" into Google images, you can see what they look like. I think it is barbaric  - eating a foetus and really gross too.

My husband told me about his experience with this "delicacy" many years ago, balut I mean not eating a placenta.  I thought it may have changed, that's culture difference I suppose

In an uncles butcher shop once when he was preparing a chicken for mum and he pulls out an unlaid egg and suggests the 'wee one' that's me, have it for tea.  I didn't my brother had it instead, yuk

......also in Korea the chicken feed was often fish based and so the eggs were distinctly fishy flavoured!
