Hey all,

Im going to do a bit of winter veg this year, this is what i plan to do:

Garlic
Salads
Brassicas
Carrots
turnips
Spinach
Radishes
Peas
Onions
Leeks

Can anyone give me a rough indication as to when to sow these veg so that they harvest over winter and early spring???

Also would you sow any indoors rather than outdoors?

Sticking to the true definition of "early spring" - none of the above.

I'll be planting onions and garlic soon, but won't anticipate cropping until about June, brassicas for spring harvest are already in as plants, salads can be grown in a greeenhouse, but I would not pay for heating one for a few leaves over winter.

As much as I love peas, they are more bother than they are worth, in my opinion just to have some a few weeks earlier than spring sown ones.

For me, it's onions and garlic next month, then that's it until January when a few early cauliflower seed will go in. If I'm really bored I may bring that forward to December 25th,  (the "C" word is is banned at the moment).

Thanks DD for the sowing/harvesting link but I notice spuds and garlic are not listed.  Any reason for this?  Newcomers would welcome this info.

I think in the main, apart from onions sets, he's gone with seed.
