Clucky is limping
« on: September 06, 2010, 21:36 »
Have only had my chickens for a couple of months and this morning I noticed that clucky was limping.  I held her while my husband had a look at her foot but there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it.  She is still laying and seems perfectly okay apart from her limp   Has anyone else had a chicken with a limp?  Need some advice

She may have jumped down from the perch and landed awkwardly.... or may have an infection in her foot???

Have a feel of her limbs simultaniously and see if there is one part warmer than the other... indicating infection, or if she flinches if you gently palpate the joints :)

Good luck...
I love Pekins, Polands and Seramas :) and eggs!!!

Thanks for the advice :)  Will try and catch her tonight and have a look.  She's pretty quick for a chicken with a bad leg!!!
