we have a wasps nest in the headlining of an old lorry cab, but rather than killing them we are waiting for them to disappear of their own accord, luckily we don't need to use this cab for a couple of months.

well been down there early today armed with bales of straw and lighting fluid, managed to eradicate one out of the three, possibily 2, but the one at the back could be a big one.
have phoned various pest control firms and they want silly money to remove them.
if i do leave it untill its cold and they have supposedly died off, will the queen still be in the nest? is she likely to sting or will she just buzz off ?

She will go elsewhere to hibernate, so you can just dig the papery nest into the soil.
