New to this crop..........

I was given three chilli plants which have little yellow chillis formed.  Here comes the daft question.  When are they ready to pick, or what colour should they be when ripe?

Depends on the variety, they come in all shapes and colours and sizes. You can use them green or coloured, but be aware that usually, but not always, the smaller the chilli the hotter, so you will have to try small amounts till you know. :wacko:

You will know when they are not going to ripen any more cos the skin will start to show fine wrinkles. You can leave them in a dry window somewhere to dry for winter use.

No doubt someone into chillis will be along soon. :)
