When will my bantams stop growing
« on: July 10, 2007, 22:13 »
Hi folks, ive had my mixed banties for 3 weeks now and love them to bits. I had my coop and run made by the people at Poultry Pen and its beautifully made. I left instructions that I would like 4 banties and mixed if they could. Ive got a black silkie 2 silver laced wyandottes and a little white one called a Belgium something that is only the size of a dove. Shes so friendly and comes to me straight away. They are all 15 weeks old and my question is Im worried that the eggs from the tiny one will be too tiny. How big will she actually grow till shes full size for her breed. Anyone know about belgium bantams she really is small .

Thanks for the help but I couldnt find my little white bantam described on there. I wonder if they are mistaken and shes not a Belgium but something else. If anyone has even an inkling please let me know.If I was able to id put a picture of her on here. But she is 15 weeks old, white and the size of a dove.

Hi
When you ordered bantams -were you offered a choice or was it a selection?
Smaller eggs indeed but very pretty and decorative birds, and since  you have 4 you shouldn't run short of eggs! :D

Hi calli, I ordered the coop and run from the poultry people who couldnt have been more helpful because of spec details. They had hens that I could have had but because I wanted bantams she knew of a farmer that lived near her who could provide them. She asked him what he had available , told me and I made my choise from that. Not knowing much about them I did actually choose the silkie and wyandottes but left the other up to him. Surprise me I said. He certainly did. No complaints about either ppl though they were super and very helpful. Would recommend them Apparently I have been told the little one is a Belgium Danvers.

Anything like these?

I have some serama and the eggs are tiny from them - I must confess that many of mine are purely decorative

I have a penchant for the long tails - phoenix/yokohama
