Hang some bananas/skins round them if still on the vine.

Or,  brown paper bag with banana placed in.

The ethlyne gas produced will ripen them.
Top tip for camping....don't go.

My plan A: pray.
My plan B: green tomato chutney.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I do seem to have a very faint patches of orange on mine now, if you really look.
I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

Is that part of a cunning plan to look at your toms under a cunningly strong orange-coloured lamp, MW?  :tongue2:

My lot of toms took ages to go ripe, so i put bananas under the plants.
It worked a treat and now i have some lovely tomatoes to go in sandwiches, spagbols, ect.  :)

I've advocated banana skins on quite a few earlier threads asking the same question. It really does work.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Mine are still green too.  I've put several banana skins under the plants but no hint of changing colour yet.  How much longer, everyone else in the area has lots of red ones!!

It'll only work on fully grown, but unripe fruit. If they're still growing, it's a waste of time.

Apparently the commercial boys gas them

Assuming you have enough fruit, encourage the green tomatoes on your vines to ripen by removing any remaining flowers. The flowers may now not mature into fruit anyway, so removing them will signal the plant to finish setting seed by ripening the existing tomatoes. Also remove any side shoots and some of the lower leaves especially any discoloured ones, this will also signal the plant that the resources to make more seed are not available. The absence of leaf will hasten ripening as the sun and air have easier access to the green fruit.

:D
