watering raspberries
« on: August 20, 2010, 15:12 »
I have drip watered my raspberries all summer and had a wonderful crop but now they are over. When do I stop watering them? I know that they dont like to be too wet over winter but should I continue watering them through autumn or should I stop now that they have stopped fruiting?

Many Thanks

As the summer season draws to an end and the sap starts to fall and rain will undoubtedly come, I would just give the bed a good mulch after a good rainfall, feed with a low nitrogen feed to get them into good condition for next year and say bye bye. I believe that mulching well over the beds in spring/ summer really helps.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
