[Mash Mad]

Here are my picaso and nadine spuds which im dissapointed with as they all turned out to be a tiny crop which im going to have to settle for.

The reason being there that size (which most will know) is to do with the number i planted in each pot. i planted about 4 in a 17inch in diam ploy pot, (Note to self only plant one next time)  that way they'd be bigger.  

also i used soil from my patch which meant they had dents and marks from stones and hard particals in the soil this dosent matter if your growing them for eating, it was a problem for me as i was growing them for exhibition.

Oh well, its not all bad, my wilja turned out cracking

really decent sized spuds, Some huge!

They make really tasty mash and roasties which i love

And they make your soil nice and crumbley after, what more could you ask for

Oh dear 

You'd probably be OK with two seed tubers in that size tub.

Don't forget also that watering is crucial to the size of the eventual potatoes.

I tend to put 3 in a pot of about 20".

I use fairly normal (cheap) compost but add chicken poo pellets and some other soil improver I have that had horse manure in it. So they were fed beyond the composts ability.

This year the crop has been pretty good, although only harvested one pot so far. The Roosters and the Pink Fir Apple's are yet to be harvested. Forget what the first lot were but pretty good. Roosters look to be doing well.
