Chicken pecking baby chicks
« on: July 07, 2007, 19:06 »
Hi, Please can you give me some advice.  One of my chickens hatched 3 eggs that was not her own.  She had been great so far with the chicks, but i noticed today that she is pecking the backs of the chicks (they are 6 weeks old now).  Two of the chicks have scabby backs where she has pecked them.  But, she is still mothering the chicks, they are sitting under her wings in the nest box etc.  What should  do?

Thanks

I don't have any experience in hatching and raising chips so I'm sure someone else will be along to help you.

Have you checked mum and chicks over to make sure they have no lice  :?:
