courgette problem

Ok whats wrong with my courgettes. I started them off abit late this year but they've caught up pretty fast and 2 weeks ago they started producing courgettes in abundance (6 plants) then last weekend they suddenly and spontaniously all just stopped!   :(

In short i got about 12 courgettes in 1 week then all six plants stopped producing, if i look at them now they seem to have male flowers or male flower stalks (where the male flower has dropped off) but no female flowers?  :unsure:  one or two have a rotted female flower where it looks like it didn't pollenate but only two over 6 plants?!

I expected to be drowning in courgettes by now! is it the weather?

Never had that before....ours are starting to slow up a bit....(1barrowful a day instead of two :nowink:).....but still going strong. Maybe a feed and mulch with compost or manure will give them a kick up the jacksie.

I agree they may just need a feed, give them a liquid feed (tomato feed is ok) if you have no compost to mulch them with :)

They are hungry and thirsty plants. I find you need to feed them with tomato feed at least once a week as soon as they start to flower.
