Is it ok to give my girls plums they are very sweet but they are falling from the tree before i can pick them so thought instead of being on the floor they may as well be in the chickens. Will it make the eggs taste. (thats the one egg that i am getting from 12 chickens) but that is a different story.

I'm sure the chooks may enjoy them but as with all food, not too many as it may well give them a runny tummy. I would not think it would affect the eggs in any way.

I have some wild plums in my garden and some of the chickens are helping themselves to these but I really must get out there and pick them myself as I'ved promised some to Grannie Annie for jam making.

My coop is under the plum tree and the chooks help themselves to windfalls with no problems .
