Can any one help Please. i have just bought a second hand Mountfield Laser Delta lawnmower for 40 pound the only thing is you have to take the air fillter off and  put a drop of petrol in the carb to start it up after that it will start all the time.  before hand if you push the primer bulb it sound's if it is sucking air i have put photo's if it help.or so is this why it was 40 pound.

The diaphragm on this type of Briggs engine needs replacing regularly. Also, has the primer bulb got a split in it so it's letting in air? That's another common fault.

Gwiz you were right the diaphragm i put a new one in and am off  to mow a meadow thank you gwiz for your help
